The right line at the right time

Every "moment — line" pairing has been checked: more than 2,400 of them, with every unfitting one removed. The commentator won't say "goal" on an interception or call half-time before the whistle. Where there is no fitting line, he stays silent rather than saying something out of place.

The right intonation

Emotions are matched to the original FC 27 commentary: calm on an ordinary pass in midfield, full voice on a big chance and a goal. Surnames on passes sound level, without shouting.

Women's football without mistakes

In women's matches the commentators say "she" and "her" and use women's surnames — Sam Kerr, Lucy Bronze, Alexia Putellas. In a men's match there is not a single "she", and the other way round; a female referee at a men's match is covered too. Gender has been checked for every one of the 40,865 lines.

A real broadcast

Pre-match cutscenes, the welcome, the starting line-ups, talk about the league and the table, and Tyler and Smith chatting during breaks and after goals — the match sounds like a TV broadcast from kick-off to the final whistle.

• Players who appeared after 2019 (Haaland, Bellingham, Foden, Vinícius and others) are heard without their surname: the FIFA 20 recordings don't have them
